Geography

Jakarta is Indonesia's capital located in the Northwest of Java Island. With a official population of more than 9 million people Jakarta can rank itself among the top 10 largest cities in the world. Jakarta encompasses 661.52 km2 and the Ciliwung River divide the city into the eastern and the western part.

Climate

Jakarta has a hot and humid equatorial/tropical climate. The city is humid throughout the year with daily temperature range of 25° to 38°C (77°-100°F)

Currency

The official currency in Indonesia is the Rupiah and is a generally accepted currency. The value € 1,- is around 14.000 Indonesia Rupiah. (08-2008).

The time difference between West-Europe and Indonesia is + 5 hours during summertime.
